Our goals

FAVEX, i.e. Finnish Film & Audiovisual Export, is an association which facilitates promotion, marketing and sales of Finnish audiovisual content and services, be it in the spheres of television, film or publicity.  FAVEX aims at being a contact point and knowledge provider for Finnish production companies on one hand, and for international buyers and distributors in the audiovisual industry on the other hand, especially being so for the small and medium sized enterprises.

FAVEX can also be considered a spokesperson for the international and export related topics of the industry, together with other associations, especially the Finnish Film Foundation, working with audiovisual matters or working with export of other cultural contents, such as music, design, art or literature.

FAVEX makes the world aware of the excellent, creative and varied Finnish products and productions that are worth while exploring.

Our activities

The core activities are formed by marketing and communications related activities. Abroad including, but not excluded to: carefully selected participation in international festivals, markets, fairs and seminars as well as direct marketing and communications. FAVEX’ primary aim is not to promote Finnish audiovisual content to the consumer, but are instead directed to inform and serve the professional buyers and distributors. FAVEX is especially aimed at coordinating co-promotional activities.

In Finland FAVEX is an active participant in the discussions around the industry’s export-related visions, needs and possibilities, and seeks to be a useful partner to both governmental actors as well as the private sector associations, thus proactively participating in such forums.
 
The finance base consists currently of government funds by the Ministry of Education and Culture and Ministry of Commerce and Labour, as well as participation of the bodies forming FAVEX and companies participating in the events.
